Okay, I don’t know what it is, but more and more fakers are coming out of the woodwork.   I think since my last post I had about 4 more guys claiming to be in the army.   I may have said this before but it I’ve read they target women over 50 and who are lonely.   Well, this chick isn’t lonely or desperate.   But of course they don’t know that.   J I have another one today who claims to be in the army.   I’ll let him tell me all about himself and then I’ll slap him with my story about how many guys on here have said they are in the army and really aren’t. Again, this is disgrace to our military men and women.   I have a great idea on a dating website.   No written profiles!!   It should be videos.   You have to record a video of yourself where you talk about yourself.   What better way to show who you are.   I think you would get a better picture of the person and hear their voice and hear them speak.   Being fake would be harder.   I know some will try but maybe this would

Ok Okay, since I last posted I've had several more guys claiming to be in the army.  OMG!!!   Well today's guy, and this was one I messaged first on POF.  We sent a few messages back and forth and then asked about a chat place so I told him about Google hangout.  So we went there and exchanged messages.  These guys need to come up with new stories.  Well this time I got google hangout on my laptop and I copied the conversation to share it.  Here it is... Okay, so here is my story from last week.   I got a message from a guy on POF and he was cute (they always are).   He sent me a message that he likes my pictures and wanted to get to know me.   He said he was in the Army stationed in Afghanistan and that he was retiring in a month.   Heard that before.   So I messaged him back and asked if he was really in the army or was he yanking my chain.   I told him that I heard from several guys on here who claim to be in the army and really aren’t.   So I waited for his response.   He said why would he have a reason to try lie.   So I gave him a chance but still didn’t believe him.   So I asked where he grew up in St. Louis.   He said he was born in Ohio and moved to St. Louis two years ago.   I asked how what was the time difference between Afghanistan and St. Louis.   I waited and waited.   No answer.   I went back to look at his profile and it was gone.   Actually he probably blocked me.   He didn’t know the time difference obviously

I found some websites that has been very helpful in seeing if some of these guys are scammers.     The first one is: http://www.romancescam.com/check.htm This gives you steps to go through to check people out.   It is free.   This one you can upload the picture and if they it, it will pop up.   It will also pull up other pictures that are similar. http://www.scamdigger.com/picsearch.php   Here is a facebook page that is all about the military scammers. https://www.facebook.com/MilitaryRomances   This one shows pictures used most frequently in scams: http://scamdigger.com/pictures-used-in-military-scams/  

Then I moved on to Plenty of Fish (POF).  I have several POF stories but I have to tell you the one that just happened this week. So I go through the pictures and profiles and saw a guy who looked cute and had a decent profile.   So I figured what the heck I’ll send a flirt.   He responded back right away and we exchanged several messages over 2 days.   He said he was in the army special forces and right now he was stationed in St. Louis.   He is from Valley Park.   My first question I asked is what high school he went too.   He told me JFK High School.   So I checked and that high school is in St. Louis.   Okay, so that may be true.   As we chatted he mentioned be stationed here and I should have asked where, instead I said oh are you at Jefferson Barracks and he said yes.   My goof there.   Supposedly he has an 8 year old daughter who lives in KC and is being taken of while he is here.   He said his wife was killed in a car accident five years ago.   So a day later he says

The next site I tried is Our Time for people over 50.  I signed up for one month.  The second day I was on it my account got hacked.  Oh great.  So that Monday I was able to get it back by calling the company.  Nothing bad happened.  Our Time noticed something wasn’t right so they shut down my profile.  Kudos to them for catching that.  No personal info is in there so I don’t have to worry.  Just had to change my password.  One bad thing about Our Time is their sight is so slow and has lots of ads.  I got a message from a guy.  I messaged back.  His profile says he lives in St. Louis but he said he was in Atlanta GA for six months.  He makes jewelry.  He says it takes him all around the world because he personally delivers it.  Hmm.  Suspicious to you?  It was to me.  Of course I googled him and didn’t find anything.  My first suspicion is he was using a fake name.  I could be wrong.  Not likely though.  We exchanged a few more emails and he asked for my phone number.  NOPE!  No

So one night I was online and I got a message to chat so I clicked yes.  This guy was 61 (I’m 53 soon to be 54).  He seemed nice but he was too old (I guess it’s the cougar in me coming out).  He wrote a very nice email.  He was from Sweden (I think).   His kids were grown and I think he said he lived in Fenton (if that’s true).  He then tells me how lonely he is.  OMG!!  He would definitely smother my groove.  So I politely emailed him back and told I was looking for someone closer to my age and good luck in his search.  Well he emails me back and says age is nothing and goes on and on and once again mentions how lonely he was.  So I blocked his email so he couldn’t email me and blocked him on the site.  Done. I get another email from a lady who has a friend who also saw my profile and thought I was beautiful.  Give me a break.  She tells me all these wonderful things about him and I should surprise him and email him.  Okay, what the heck.  This will make a great story for my b

A few days later I get a message from a guy on Match he said he met someone from here and is getting married next month but he said his friend was looking over his shoulder and saw my picture on the site and thought I was gorgeous.  He said I should surprise him and contact him.  He gave me his email.  I thought about it and though sure what the heck.  So I emailed him.  He was very surprised to hear from me and glad.  He sends a very nice email and tells me all about him.  Once again going on about how beautiful I am.  (I know I know).  We exchanged a few emails.  Of course he lives in Canada.  What a surprise.  I googled and him didn’t find out a whole lot about him but he did really live in Canada.  Well one night I emailed him back and told him about the scammer I encountered.  What a surprise but I never heard from him again.  Hmm.  Another scammer?  Who knows?  Who cares?   That’s when I thought I should really do a blog about this.  I thought maybe this would get me on t

Okay, so I started a little project in August and decided to start a blog about it.   After breaking up with my last boyfriend in 2011 I took time to be selfish and not date anyone.   It was good.   Then I thought I think I’m ready to get back out there, though my daughter isn’t ready for me too.   Anyway, here is my story and yes it’s all true.   I am not putting down any sites either.   I am sure all of them have their success stories and do work.   I work with a girl who met her fiancé on e-harmony.   Now I’m NOT looking for a husband but I would like someone to go out with.   So as I share my story I will add in tips.   So are you ready?   Here we go…. First off I want to say that I in NO WAY are playing any games with the men I email with.  I am sincere.  I know there are good guys out there who are honest and I hope to meet one soon.  But my stories are too funny not to share. I starting looking at profiles on the sites to see what’s out there and my first thing I reali
