When you get these kind of emails, check out a couple of things. 1.  The email extension on this says "gmail.com"  If this were a real email from a law firm, the extension would be the law firms name. 2.  The first paragraph is garbage.  No law firm writes that way. 3.  And I don't think I need to go over the rest. When I hit reply, the email address is changes to:  roberttdavidsonesq@hotmail.com. I have never seen a reply to email change like that. I learn something new every day. Stay Safe!!!!

I had stopped posting fake celebrity stories because for the most part they are all the same.  But this one asked for a gift card right out of the gate.  So it gets posted here. I tried to get him to chat on the phone.  He did answer my second call, he only said a few words and it was obvious it wasn't the real Chris Evans.  Then he hung up when I started talking.

I was just invited to like their page on Facebook.   You have to check it out.  They have great information and an awesome video called SCAMMERS get Pranked"  It is 16 minutes long but well worth it!!! "Julie Powell, she cooked every recipe in the Julia Child Cookbook and blogged about it.  She did it in one year.  She loved Julia Child and loved cooking." When I found out she passed away I just started crying.  I didn't realize it would hit me this hard.  She is the reason and my inspiration to want to start a blog. The movie "Julie and Julia" starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams is one of my favorite movies.  It is my blog bible.  When I need inspiration, I watch the movie.  When I want a good laugh, I watch the movie.  And basically watch it every chance I get.  LOL!!! I followed her on twitter.  I would always tag her on all my twitter posts about my blog.  Hoping one of those time she would maybe reach out to me.  I did post a comment one time about the movie and she did respond back.  It was so cool.  If you've seen the movie, there is a seen which is called the "Ritual Cobb Salad Lunch."  I had asked her if that really happened.  She said no, it was just put in the movie.  She said she hated that scene.  I always had more questions I wanted to ask but didn't want to seem like a stalker.  LOL!!!! I think I was in awe of her the way she was in awe of Julie Child. I did find her address and sent her a shirt and letter but I never heard anything back.  Ok, I am a fan girl.  LOL!!! In the movie, Julie loved Julia Child and cooking.  Now, in heaven, she will finally meet her idol. I plan to dedicate my blog to Julie Powell. RIP Julie Powell!!!!

So when I see a photo I recognize on POF, I like to send them a note, similar to below.  But this guy is full of himself.  I left recorded message to him hoping he would do the same but of course he didn't.  Just typed insults. I sent another note, waiting to see if he responds back or blocks me.  Stay tuned!!

Yep, this was a quickie.  LOL!!!!  It was a very short conversation and as you can see I sent one of the fake cards that I have. I did an audio response back to him after he said the card didn't work.  I forgot to save the recording so I could attach it here.  But basically I said I know it's fake and so is he.  Then I blocked him. You know, every once in awhile, I like to change things up when talking with the "boyfriends".  So this time I started doing the sweet talk to them.  Now when you read this, please remember this isn't how I talk.  I am playing the game with them and I have to say, it was DELICIOUS!! Check it out! This guys picture has been used over and over on me.  He is what I call a repeater. NEVER SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW!!!

And due to me knowledge of scams, she knew instantly that it was one.  So I guess you are wondering what is was. Well, she got a letter from a lawyer in Canada.  About a relative of hers (which he wasn't), having left his money and no family to inherit it.  LOL! See the letter below: Now when I first saw this, the letterhead didn't seem legit to me.  And his using a gmail address was another red flag for me.  Also, the website seems legit but at the very bottom of the website it was copyrighted 2022.  The site looks real.  Has really pictures of lawyers. Below is the envelope that the letter came in.  Has a Buffalo, NY postmark.  Meaning it didn't come from Canada.  And No return address.  Imagine that???? Now I used the Reversee App on my phone and here is what came up when I searched the Lawyers pictures. So I then googled the law firm Henrickson Bachman & Associates.  Funny how the site is exactly the same as the original one on the letter with just the change in name and one additional lawyer added. Then I googled the other law firm mentioned Njuguna KJ & Co and this one is based in Kenya.  No photos of lawyers like the other ones. Both are also copyrighted 2022 sites. So in all in all, these scammers were pretty sharp in their creating fake web sites. I also consulted with a lady in my area who is a Special Agent for the Eastern District of Missouri, Department of Justice.  And below was her response. Fraud Alert! Fraud Alert! You and your friend should trust your instincts. There are a number of red flags to consider. They are: (1) numerous grammatical errors; (2) postmark of Buffalo, NY for a Canadian bank; and (3) failure to name the bank. Most importantly, your friend should consider her lack of familiarity with the beneficiary. I would imagine that the part of Canada where this bank is located has unclaimed property requirements similar to those governing banks in the US. In my opinion, this is something to go in the round file. So, long story short, some of these scammers are pretty savvy.  Be cautious, be careful.  And remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is a scam. NEVER SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW.
