From Kathy at Advocating for You. A personal request to my fellow colleagues, partners and advocates: World Romance Scam Prevention Day is October 3, and I would truly appreciate your help sharing the day with your networks, organizations and communities. Whether you share a WRSPD graphic, start a conversation about romance scam manipulation, provide trusted resources or remind victims that they are not alone, your voice can make a difference. This year’s theme is See. Hear. Understand. It challenges all of us to see the person behind the loss, hear victims without blame or judgment, and understand the deliberate psychological and emotional manipulation used by romance scammers. Please help us spread the word. You can learn more about World Romance Scam Prevention Day and find ways to support the campaign on the AARS website: https://lnkd.in/gmV8M3JZ If you participate, please tag Advocating Against Romance Scammers so we can recognize and share your support. Thank you for helping us make sure victims feel seen, heard, understood and, most importantly, not alone. #WRSPD #WorldRomanceScamPreventionDay #SeeHearUnderstand #RomanceScamAwareness #SupportScamVictims Advocating Against Romance Scammers

This one made me laugh!!!

Cybercriminals are targeting public Wi-Fi networks at hotels, airports and other shared locations by replacing legitimate Wi-Fi login pages with fake sign-in screens designed to steal credentials or install malware. Because these pages can appear immediately after connecting to a network, they may seem legitimate and catch travelers off guard. Co-workers should be cautious of any public Wi-Fi login page that asks them to install software, enter unexpected sign-in codes or follow unusual instructions. To stay safe, use trusted connections whenever possible, connect to a VPN before accessing work resources, keep devices updated and avoid downloading anything from a Wi-Fi login page.
